I will show how traditional origami has evolved from the well-loved crane to today's form by leading two hands-on origami classes to fold, manipulate and assemble paper into usable containers and or decorative spheres. In the afternoon, each participant will weave together 30 sheets of paper into a dodecahedron ball, a subset in modern origami know as modular origami.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Saturday morning session (2 hours) "Practical Origami Containers"</b> I will teach participants how to interpret diagrams illustrated by modern origami designers from folding several practical boxes and containers. there seeming to be no really active group in Hawaii, I would like to
start one to bring folders together. The group can cover a large area
of topics, from traditional and craft models and classes; to more
contemporary topics such as crease patterns, complex, abstract art,
tessellations, polyhedra, math, science, etc. The group is open to
anyone, of any skill level, of any interest, as long as it has
something to do with origami."</code></div></div></div></div></div></div></td></tr></tbody></table></div></content><link rel="http://schemas.google.com/sites/2008#parent" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sites.google.com/feeds/content/site/alohaorigami/7126425331845432349" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://sites.google.com/site/alohaorigami/Announcements/betweenthefolds-freescreeningthursfeb4" /><link rel="http://schemas.google.com/sites/2008#revision" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sites.google.com/feeds/revision/site/alohaorigami/8142842970709068851" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sites.google.com/feeds/content/site/alohaorigami/8142842970709068851" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sites.google.com/feeds/content/site/alohaorigami/8142842970709068851" /><author><name>Deb Pun</name><email>debpun@gmail.com</email></author><sites:pageName>betweenthefolds-freescreeningthursfeb4</sites:pageName><sites:revision>1</sites:revision></entry></feed>
